MCP server
I’m coming from YNAB like many other folks. Before trying ZeroSum, I gave Lunch Money a shot. One thing that really stood out to me was the option to connect to an AI using an MCP. This allowed me to work directly with an AI to discuss my budget and even bulk modify my budget and plan. While this is definitely not a dealbreaker(I really love what I see with zero sum!), it would be very nice to have. Migrated from UserJot · originally requested Apr 2026 · 7 votes.
On the accounts view, I'd love a little reconcile icon next to each account if I reconciled today
The first thing I do when I’m budgeting income is reconciling my accounts and I’d love an easy way to see without having to click into each account how recently I last reconciled. Minimum viability for me on this is a little check mark or dot next to the account on the full accounts view if I reconciled today. Extra bonus would be a little counter telling me how many days ago I reconciled that account. Extra extra bonus would be that counter changing color from green (for reconciled today) to yellow (last reconciled this week) to red (last reconciled more than a week ago).
Reconciliation wizard
In the best case scenario, reconciling currently requires 4 clicks per account which adds up fast if you have lots of accounts. Would be cool to be able to reconcile all accounts at once through a single dialog / experience - reducing to as low as 3-4 clicks total. This should probably live on the Accounts tab.Requirements- Single screen with a looks good / different balance toggle for each account (defaulting to looks good)- Perform the sync comparison across all bank-linked accounts simultaneously- For any marked by user as looks good, reconcile- For any marked by user as different balance, initiate a guided experience that takes them through each account page to reconcile manually (or just add a flag to each account requiring review if that's easier) Migrated from UserJot · originally requested Jun 2026 · 10 votes.
Add a Hide or Inactivate Payee option
Would it be possible to add a feature to hide a payee from the payee dropdown list by setting it to inactive? This way its sort of archived when working with transactions. I have payees from vacations or business trips where I'd like their name to be displayed when searching or viewing old transactions or viewing reports and I don't need to see them in the payee list when adding/editing transactions. I don't want to delete/merge the payees because then I'd likely need the payee names added to the transaction notes as it can be important for historical reasons like reimbursement for a business trip. This is a feature in YNAB that I am used to using. In Zerosum, it would be even cooler if on the Manage Payees screen if there was a toggle for something like active vs inactive payees. This would be even better than what YNAB offers. The last used date on the Payee screen is awesome by the way. Something YNAB doesn't have. :)
Payee Icons
Hey, would love to have a way to set custom payee icons so its more clear to view in the register. This could be done quickly in the manage payee section and it can auto serch website’s favicon or possibly off other services that already collect these. I believe it would be a great help with visibility with a short time trade off.
Multi language support
I know enough people around me who would benefit from zero based budgeting but have trouble with english and therefore never really got around to committing to something like ynab (which is also mainly english). Will you support more languages? In my friends case it would be nice if it were possible to switch to dutch.
Daily savings goal
Hi, Another goal option I’d love to see is a daily savings target, such as $1 per day. It could automatically calculate the required amount based on the number of days in each month - for example, $30 in April and $31 in May. This would be useful for simple savings challenges, especially kids savings goals, pocket-money matching or other small habits that are easier to think about as a daily amount. Thank you
Optional custom payment frequency for loan payment goals
Hi! I’m not sure whether this is already possible and I’ve simply missed the option, but I wanted to suggest it as a possible improvement. My student loan is paid quarterly: in my case, €390 is withdrawn every three months, while I set aside €130 each month. I already have this represented in ZeroSum with a monthly payment goal of €130 and a separate recurring loan payment of €390 every three months, so there is a working setup. I just thought it might be useful if the loan payment goal itself could also reflect payment schedules such as every 3, 6, or 12 months, while still calculating a monthly funding amount. That way, the loan could show both the actual payment cadence and the amount that needs to be set aside each month in one place. This may also be useful for other loans or obligations that are paid quarterly or semiannually. It also might make the balance forecast for use cases like this a little less wonky.

Native Mobile Apps
ZeroSum on iOS and Android, built native. Manage your budget, log transactions, and check your numbers on the go — with the speed and feel of a real app, not a browser tab. Migrated from UserJot · originally requested Mar 2026 · 45 votes.
API
I use the YNAB API to pull in current category balances for a couple of spreadsheets I use for various projections. It would be awfully nice not to lose that ability if I switch over. Migrated from UserJot · originally requested Jun 2026 · 18 votes.
Hidden Tags
I use Tags as a sort of sub-category. A great example is as a means of analysing the spend in my Vacation category. So one of my tags might then be "Greece '26". Once that vacation is over I will not need this tag again but I will want it to appear in tag based reports.Another example is Home Improvements. I will not need my "Driveway: tag again for many years, if ever. So, my feature request is for a way to hide Tags please. In just the same way as we can hide Categories. Customizable Overview page
It would be great if the Overview page could be customizable with reports from the Analytics tab. Right I have a few reports that I love in the Analytics that I use everyday and I have to flip to Overview to see recurring transactions and Goals needing attention. It would be fantastic if all this info can be available on a single tab. Migrated from UserJot · originally requested Jun 2026 · 6 votes.
bank account icons
Hi, thanks that you added the possibility to use emojis before each bank account. Is it possible to allow us to use a gif/png file for this? can you let us see the icon when we create a transfer? for multiple accounts it would be very helpful
Hide Values for Privacy
I’d like a toggle for hiding the values (both transactions and categories), for privacy purposes. Maybe this can be an eye symbol next to the filters button on budget view or in the “view” dropdown. Migrated from UserJot · originally requested Jun 2026 · 9 votes.
Create "Pay by [date]" goals for credit cards
It's awesome that credit cards can now have goals, but often, you need to pay off your balance by a certain date. Having the ability to set a "pay by" date as a goal and have Zerosum calculate how much you'll need to budget every month would be a great addition! Make Savings Rate meaningful for users who don't live paycheck-to-paycheck
The situation Savings Rate today compares the money that came in during a month to the money that went out during that same month. That works perfectly if you spend this month what you earned this month. But some of us here don't. We keep a buffer. We budget a month or several months ahead. That's literally what the app teaches us to do — and the better we get at it, the less our monthly spending is funded by that month's income. So the chart starts telling us about our payroll calendar instead of our habits: You put money aside in February, and the month it finally gets spent shows up as a huge expense with no income facing it. Your rate tanks — for doing exactly the right thing. A bonus, a 13th month or a holiday allowance lands, and that month reads +65%. The next few months look terrible by comparison. Pay your annual insurance, your taxes, or book the family holiday, and one month goes deep red even though nothing about your finances changed. My own last 12 months read −109%, +65%, +59%, −19%. My habits didn't swing by 170 points in three months. The chart is measuring when money moved, not how much I actually keep. What would fix it None of this requires throwing the widget away — mostly it's about what we're shown by default: Lead with a rolling 12-month figure rather than a single month? Over a full year the timing effects cancel out and the number becomes real. Keep the monthly bars as context. Smooth out the one-offs? An option to spread annual expenses (taxes, insurance, big trips) across the year, the same way the app already thinks about true expenses on the budget side. Longer term, an alternative basis that timing can't distort — for example measuring what you allocated to savings and investment categories out of the income you received, or the growth of your net worth excluding market moves. Either one answers "how much do I actually keep?" regardless of when the money moves. Even just item 1 and 2 would make the widget trustworthy for a large chunk of users. If your Savings Rate chart also looks like a heart monitor, give this a vote!
“Enter now” for multiple upcoming transactions
Add “Enter now option” when multiple upcoming transactions are selected to the menu at the bottom of the screen. Currently this needs to be done for each transaction separately.
Picture of receipt
I would really like the ability to add a picture to transactions. I have som transactions that I can get tax deductions from, but then I need the receipts/invoices.
Support Markdown formatting in transaction notes
Please add support for Markdown syntax within the notes section of transactions. Specifically, the ability to include code blocks (using backticks) would be highly beneficial for:- Linking specific transaction IDs or reference numbers.- Documenting small snippets of data related to a trade.- Improving general readability with bolding and lists. This would allow for more structured and professional record-keeping directly within the app. Migrated from UserJot · originally requested Jun 2026 · 3 votes.
Adjustable Columns in Accounts
It would be nice to have the ability to adjust the column widths in the accounts. This is especially helpful when you have longer notes or category names. Migrated from UserJot · originally requested Jun 2026 · 10 votes.
Toggle accounts for calendar view.
I would like an option to be able to toggle which accounts are visible in the calendar view. I have multiple off-budget accounts that I use simply for tracking purposes for a full financial picture. Currently the calendar shows all transactions across all accounts, but I would mainly like it to show only transactions from on-budget accounts to get a better visual of my day-to-day cash flow.
